The Engagement Party

Neither Patrick nor I can think of another time in our lives when we felt more loved than we did last night at our engagement party at Bottlehouse in Madrona. After all, what could be more meaningful than celebrating the opportunity to spend the rest of your life with the person you love while surrounded by your family and closest friends? The seven of my bridesmaids who put the event together (and the eighth who sent her love from El Salvador and was there in spirit) deserve more thanks that I can give them for throwing the most phenomenal engagement party I could have ever imagined. The photos of Patrick and I that decorated the windows, crisp sparkling wine, taupe and butter yellow tissue poms, mason jars with tea lights, and the amazing spread of cheeses, homemade pickled vegetables, bite-sized whoopie pies and cream puffs were all perfect for us in every way.

Saying we are grateful doesn’t even begin to express what we feel toward my wonderful girls and all of our family and friends who turned out to celebrate with us.

Among the many generous gifts we received was this GIANT bottle of Chianti Classico, given by Adam and Vanessa. I guess we had better be on the lookout for a special occasion when we can share this bottle with about 1,500 of our closest friends!

I’m so happy you had your celebration at Bottlehouse!!! Definitely one of the places I’ll really miss in Seattle. Hope you got to have some of Sully’s ridiculously amazing pickled green grapes…my fave! Congrats!
